Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
Information entered in a search tool is transmitted to the outside provider that operates that tool so it can process the request and display results. Chase County Court Docket does not keep or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, the message and return address are retained as needed to respond. We do not share the correspondence outside our organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
Ordinary server logs collect technical details when a visitor loads a page. These may include the device's IP address, browser and version, operating system, device type, referring page, pages viewed, time spent, and page-view timestamps.
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files that can help measure traffic and site use. Analytics tools may combine visit information to show which pages are used and where technical problems arise. Browser controls can block or remove cookies, although parts of the website may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
Collected information is used for limited operational purposes:
- Operating the website and maintaining reliable page delivery
- Sending a search request to the provider selected by the visitor
- Understanding aggregate page use and improving useful content
- Diagnosing errors, abuse, and security issues
- Supporting advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Chase County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of personal court cases or docket records. Its content explains public routes to Chase County District Court, Clerk of the District Court, Kansas CaseSearch, courthouse-terminal access, and Kansas Open Records Act procedures. Kansas Supreme Court Rule 22 controls electronic court access and distinguishes web access from the courthouse public terminal. This website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act and does not assemble visitor information into reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. A query submitted through a box is handled under that provider's privacy policy, retention rules, and disclosure practices rather than this policy. We do not control those systems. Review the provider's terms before entering information.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Chase County offices, the Fifth Judicial District, Kansas Judicial Branch portals, statutes, legal-aid resources, and outside search services. Once you follow a link, the destination's privacy practices apply. Consider those terms before giving the destination personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across websites or select ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited visitor data may be available to:
- Search partners processing a query you choose to submit
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Advertising networks serving ads on the website
- Service providers needed to host or protect the website
- Government or law-enforcement authorities responding to a valid legal requirement
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for information under our control. No internet service or storage method can guarantee complete security, however. We cannot promise that unauthorized access, loss, or misuse will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If we learn that such information was submitted, we will take reasonable steps to remove it.
Your Data Rights
Privacy and consumer-protection rights can depend on where a visitor lives and what information is involved. You may ask to learn what personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, seek deletion where applicable, or object to certain processing. The Kansas Open Records Act, including K.S.A. 45-218 and K.S.A. 45-221, governs requests for Kansas public records and exemptions; it is not a substitute for privacy rights concerning this privately operated website. Requests for Chase County court records must go to the responsible government custodian and remain subject to Rule 22, sealing orders, and other access limits.
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may be revised as practices, services, or legal requirements change. A revised version will be posted here with its new effective date.
